Der UN-Sicherheitsrat in seiner aktuellen Konstellation ist aus der Zeit gefallen. Dass ganze Kontinente nicht vertreten sind, ist ein Fehler. Es braucht eine Reform. Mit dem Pakt für die Zukunft stoßen wir einen Prozess an, das zu ändern.
The UN Security Council in its current constellation has fallen out of time. The fact that entire continents are not represented is a mistake. It needs to be reformed. With the Pact for the Future, we are initiating a process to change that.

Es ist noch einiges zu tun, um gleichwertige Lebensverhältnisse in Ost und West zu erreichen. Bei allem, was uns vereint, bei allem, in dem Ostdeutschland boomt und Vorreiter ist, bleibt das unser Auftrag für eine vollkommene Einheit.

Die Bundesregierung unterstützt Verhandlungen über eine Waffenruhe. Das habe ich Libanons Premier Mikati versichert.
Es braucht eine diplomatische Lösung des Konflikts.
The situation between Israel and Hezbollah must not escalate any further. There is a threat of a regional conflagration. Germany supports negotiations on a ceasefire. I have assured Lebanon's Prime Minister Mikati of this.
